About me

Beth Pope, Specialist Teacher and Assessor

BDA accredited

I am a Level 7 qualified specialist teacher and dyslexia assessor, and am accredited through the British Dyslexia Association.

I have 16 years’ experience working with children with special educational needs, including many years as a primary school SENDCo. More recently I have specialised in working with children who have needs impacting on their attainment in reading, writing and spelling.

I have always been motivated by finding effective approaches in supporting children with diverse learning needs. I recognise the critical need for early identification and support for children with literacy difficulties and how these can impact on their learning and self-esteem.

It is important to build a child’s confidence through recognition of their strengths and successes, and provide them with strategies that will support their literacy learning across the curriculum.
